Few people have felt like creative kindred souls quite like Chelsea. From the moment I moved to Nashville, she welcomed me with open arms into her circle. Nearly two years later, we’ve worked on a beautiful bridal project at The Four Seasons together and now, I’ve had the honor of photographing her insanely precious family. Their in-home family session set in the hills of Nashville is one that will stick with me for a while.
As an amazingly talented floral designer, Chelsea has taught me so much about balancing motherhood and business. A few months ago, she invited me into her world on a trip to the floral wholesaler when I was in need of some specialty blooms. With Chelsea’s two-year-old in tow, together we explored the endless aisles of flowers. I loved watching Chelsea flip between mom and business owner and truly enjoy having her children along for the ride.
At that time, baby was still on the way. Chelsea told me how much she’d love for me to photograph her family when he arrived, and we started dreaming of a cozy, organic in-home family session to document this season. Nothing forced, nothing contrived. A little raw, a lot beautiful.
A few months passed, and I met all five of them at their home that cool spring day. Instant love. Her girls are so precious. Ben, her husband, was so welcoming and genuine. I saw so much beauty in their family’s love for one another. If true wealth is measured in the amount of love and joy and in a home, I’d say Chelsea and Ben are doing quite well.
