Romantic Flower Farm Wedding at Pharsalia

July 8, 2020

Wedding

A spring evening, clear mountain skies, flowering gardens around every corner. We truly could not have envisioned a more perfect day for Bonnie + Derek to pledge their lives to one another. Their story is one rooted in young love, family, travel, and the outdoors. After Derek proposed in the Blue Ridge mountains, it was only fitting to seal the deal in front of those very mountains surrounded by the people that meant the most to them at Pharsalia.

Bonnie’s taste was impeccable through every detail—from her Badgley Mischka bejeweled pumps to the carefully selected invitations on deckled edge cotton paper. As if the sheer beauty of Bonnie’s gown wasn’t enough, it may shock you to learn she custom-designed it—herself. I’ll never forget how majestic her long train was on those rolling green hills. Natural, elegant florals were crafted by Katelyn of Urban Flora elevated the natural scenery while also allowing it to be the focal point.

Just before sundown, guests headed to the sailcloth tent reception to enjoy hor d’oeuvres and snap a polaroid for the guest book. A Little Party Events’ vision for this reception space was flawless, complete with organic climbing greenery on the support beams, dark farmhouse tables with gold candlesticks, a vintage seating vignette just outside the tent, and a stunning gold frame to house the seating chart.

As beautiful as every aspect was, what I personally loved the very most was Bonnie + Derek’s public profession of Jesus’ work in their lives and relationship. Intentional details always elevate such an intimate celebration, but it’s the vows and worship, the love for the Savior that keeps me fueled to document weddings in a meaningful way.
