Modern Garden Muse

Hidden in the mountains of Virginia lies the breathtaking flower farm and estate, Pharsalia. What was once an inherited wedding gift now serves couples as a luxury, timeless wedding venue. I first fell in love with Pharsalia at Bonnie + Derek’s romantic wedding and knew I wanted to return with my own vision in mind someday.

Together with my dear friend Mackenzie Hopkins, an editorial rooted in a desire to marry the old with the new was created. The historic nature of Pharsalia was our homage to days gone by, along with the breathtaking silhouette of our Juliet cap veil from The Veiled Beauty. This ethereal gown by ReevBridal brought a touch of movement, as well as modern simplicity. The invitation suite by Laura of Linen + Poppi set the tone for our time at Pharsalia quite perfectly. We were blessed to showcase not one, but two handcrafted bouquets from the amazingly talented Mary Ellen of Steelcut Flower Co. I love how we were able to create two separate looks that still flow together and highlight our goal of bringing a modern touch to a classic style.

If you’re equally devoted to timeless charm and modern design, my hope is that you can draw inspiration from Modern Garden Muse. I’m here to tell you, yes! It is possible to mingle two design styles in a way that is uniquely your own. Enjoy!
